Comparative Pharmacokinetics of Rosuvastatin in Male C57BL/6 Mice Following Single Intravenous and Oral Administration co-Administered With Herbal Bioenhancers

چکیده
The purpose of this study was to investigate the potential pharmacokinetic interactions with herbal bioenhancers (such as piperine, gallic acid and cinnamic acid) and rosuvastatin (RSV) in healthy male C57 BL/6 mice. After per oral (p.o.) co-administered of piperine (PIP), gallic acid (GA) acid cinnamic (CA) (5 mg/kg) significantly increased intravenous exposure (AUClast) of RSV (5 mg/kg) by 174.51%, 176.65% and 181.08% respectively than alone group (control). Compared with the control (alone) group, p.o. co-administered of PIP, GA and CA (5 mg/kg) significantly increased the oral exposure (AUClast) of RSV (25 mg/kg) by 1.35-fold, 1.66-fold and 1.62 -fold respectively. The observed absolute oral bioavailability of rosuvastatin alone is 33 % whereas rosuvastatin co-administered with per oral dose of piperine, gallic acid and cinnamic acid is 45, 56 and 54%, respectively. Hence there was 15, 19 and 18 % increase in oral availability of rosuvastatin when co administered with piperine, gallic acid and cinnamic acid respectively in C57BL/

Plasma pharmacokinetics of pioglitazone following oral or intravenous administration in Holstein cows
Pioglitazone belongs to the thiazolidinedione (TZD) class of antidiabetic agents, with proven efficacy in increasing insulin sensitivity and in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in humans. Pioglitazone has been proposed as a potential feed additive to reduce insulin resistance and consequently some of the metabolic disorders in transition cows. This study was aimed at determining the ph...
متن کاملEffect of oral co-administration of frozen-dried grapefruit juice on pharmacokinetics of tramadol in dogs
Tramadol is a centrally acting analgesic drug extensively metabolized in animal species. Its clinicalresponse is mainly due to the M1 metabolite, poorly produced in dogs. Grapefruit-juice can inhibit themetabolism of different drugs in animals and humans. The aim of the present study was to evaluate thepharmacokinetics of tramadol and its major metabolites after co-administration of tramadol an...

The study was conducted to determine the plasma concentrations and pharmacokinetic parameters of rafoxanide after a single intravenous (10 mg/kg) and oral (22.5 mg/kg) administrations in black Bengal female goats. Maximum (87.63 11.71 mg/mL) and minimum (1.8 0.24 mg/mL) plasma concentrations of rafoxanide were recorded at 0.08 and 12 h respectively after i.v. administration. The elimination h...
متن کاملPharmacokinetics and Biodistribution of Rhopalurus junceus Scorpion Venom in Tumor-Bearing Mice after Intravenous and Oral Administration
Introduction: Rhopalurus junceus scorpion venom has shown potential for anticancer treatment. However, there are no scientific evidence about venom pharmacokinetic (PK) and biodistribution (BD) in tumor-bearing mice. Methods: 131I-labeled venom was administrated by intravenous (IV) and oral (PO) routes at the single dose of 12.5 mg/kg. Mice were sacrificed and blood samples, major organs, and t...
